What started out to be a car to test transmissions rekindled old sand rail memories. So why not go for the Gold and build a car that can do it all.... It's be so fun and magical having you all along for this journey. A little over a year ago I was in dire straights looking at having heart surgery and now I'm back in the mist of all the people who I love and love me back. Thank you all so much f...

EZ Wheel Painting Makeover

This wheel and car package is in need of a quick makeover so I thought I would just do a scuff and rattle can paint job. It won't be used every day so it should last a fairly long time.

EZ VW Brake Booster
Переглядів 1,2 тис.3 місяці тому
If you want more stopping power for your IRS rear brake drums and can't afford disc brakes this trick might work for you. I replace the 18mm rear wheel brake cylinder with a 22mm front wheel cylinder and it changes the cars braking effect to give more power to the rear brakes.

Great ideas. Thanks for all the tips. Love the clear panel idea. That's what I'm going to do to mine.
Many thanks 👍
What is the part number for those KYB shocks ?
EZGZ I missed the talking and you sharing all your wisdom and knowledge. 😊
Awesome video. Thanks!
EZ….. We are missing you! How about taking us camping this summer. Or maybe grab a burrito and let’s go for a ride. Praying that all is well. Rev. Jim in North Texas. Keep Smiling my brother!
Been busy having fun. Don’t know where the time goes.
@@TheEZGZ Glad to hear. You will always have value to all of us. Though a lot of us you have never met, we still share in the hope of enjoying life and the American dream. Thanks for letting us know that all is well. I just felt like walking next door today and checking on my neighbor!
You an electrician ? I saw the kline screwdriver
Retired HVAC mechanic. Love Kline products and fluke diagnostic tools 👍
Somebody is gotta mess with those tricky little ancient vw wrecks. Everybody deals with those big block trucks, muscle cars and such.
Ive got a over heating coil any videos to help ? changed dizzy and condensor new coil still getting hot ? alternator is charging up to 14 ? any idea buddy
Why do think the coil is to hot? They are usually too hot to hold. Have you changed anything. Folks will often say: Check your ground. I say better order a spare and keep it handy. I bought a EMPI alternator and it puts out 16 volts. Not good for pointless ignition.
@@TheEZGZ thanks for reply buddy , i think it was my wiring as i had to re wire the whole car from scratch but found no earth from gearbox to chassis prob didnt help, thanks , keep up the great videos ya tips have saved me over the years thanks
I was curious as to if you still had the SPG flywheel, i have a SPG stroker crank that i want to build. I was wondering if you still had it, would you sell it and if so, how much? I will be putting it in front of a 3 rib bus trans axle. And all of that in my sand rail. Any ways, thank you for all the info you put out to all of us....
Yes I still have it. Just saw it the other day where are you located? I’m in Loveland Colorado
I'm in West Jordan ut, I would be interested in a couple transaxles too.
Red for ground???????
I was soooo hoping you would mention what method you used to screw in the replacement studs. If you don't mind sharing I'd much appreciate it. Obviously just hand tight is not adequate. A couple of questions: 1) what tool/method did you use to screw them in? 2) Did you torque them? 3) Did you use a bit of loctite?
Actually, Desert racing is getting away from swing axles. IRS tracks straighter, more travel, and parts are easier to come by. Nobody runs a swinger in a class 11 these days. Even the class 9 guys are starting to change the rules.
Things aren’t getting expensive, it’s that your money isn’t buying as much anymore
Hey Jeezy, I got a 1963 Volkswagen with transmission problems and I’m having a hard time finding somebody in the Sacramento California area they could do that work for me. Enjoy your videos very much your helping be greatly appreciated. God bless Steve Conner.
Ezgz I'm building a 1968cc type 1 with parts from my 1835cc engine. It has 041 heads stock rockers stock cam. Can you tell me what cam would make a 1968cc happy. Also what's your thoughts on a lighted flywheel the car is going to be used for the street. Do you have any recommendations for me. Thank you.
Everyone has a different opinion and even mine has changed over the years. Lately I’ve been real pleased with a mild cam like a Engel 100 or Scat C25 for an all around camshaft. Most new lightened flywheel come with 8 dowels. Be sure and get the chrome moly and not the cheap cast flywheels. Don’t forget that o-ring seal inside the flywheel.
😅😅😅😅 wtf
Hi Greg, good to see you in these videos.
WHAT INTAKE DO YOU HAVE UNDER THAT CARB,,I HAVE THAT WEBER KIT FOR VW, AND I HAVE THAT MOUNT DOWN BELOW,IT SEEMS TO THROW THINGS OFF,
Hi I’ve got a 1760 40 idf. 110 cam do you know what jets I should start with
Great work
where do you buy the longer jets and the screws from?
Wish I had this a couple years ago 😆
Havent been on the channel for years! So happy your still posting. Great vid 🎉
Hey EZ, I'm a new guy when in comes to VW powered sandrails, could I email you with a couple questions?
This is as good a place as any to ask questions. Fire away cause it’s buggy time here and I’m heading out for another adventure. 😎
Could this be used for staging brake for Honda rear brakes?
11 years later and still helping the VW community! Thanks!
We all got JCWhitney izd! I had it all too! Sand rails, bugs, square backs, in the '70s. Great times! Now, I'm older, I have a fully restored '64 sunroof bug. Fully stock and a sweet stock 40hp. I don't have to worry about overheating, or really anything. I run only 91 test, and VR1 high zinc, straight 30wt. This car is what my 1st car was. Reliable, unique, and most of all fun!!! Great info on the relief systems. Thank you!
Could you do a video on reverse gear replacement
Excellent work
This guy seems like he's very knowledgeable but if you could just stick to the point would be a big help because by the time he got through babbling on about calipers and aftermarket products and other Motors and this and that I didn't learn a thing. I was more confused than when I started
I would like to try this on my single IDF.
More good info...I didn't know there were different diameter pistons in these relief valves!
you have the coil upside down?
look how the factory installed them from VW,,,
Right on. I had mine that way and everyone keeps telling me I have it upside down. Thank you 👍🏽
Hello EZ I have a question my master has two front to rear out put can I block one rear port being my cutter is a single in dual out and run one line off master to cutter?
Not enough info to advise you. Street car, recreational toy, what year ? On my cars with off-road use I have one brake light switch port, two for the front and one for the back. I use the single rear port to feed the cutter brake and go to each rear wheel on the outlets?????
@@TheEZGZ it's a 1966 beetle rail buggy I have one port for switch two front and two rear off of my master my cutter is one in two out was thinking about plugging one rear port instead of running two lines into a T fitting thanks for your input ❤️
@@TheEZGZ ok got it figured out I have two ports for rear brakes because one port is for another brake light switch being this master has two switches but any how it's on my street legal woods rail buggy thanks Ezgz ❤️ titled 66 64 kingpin 64 swing with a 73 1600 super beetle engine I added oil filter external oil cooler with electric fan 😀 I've never put a car together and apart so many times but I'm nearing the finish line 💯
Hi EzGz...thanx for going over the clutch stuff, I always learn a lot from your vids....By the way, dont know what state you are in but sure is beautiful!

Gm 11 litre v12 manufactured from '61' to 65'.
Something else always comes along. If it ain't one thing, it's your mother. My mom doesn't get that joke.
For day to day use, a 1776. For a little fun, an 1835 with dual Dellorto 40s. For racing, a 2110 with IDAs, minimum.
When a V8 just won’t do…you can always go V12🏁
Its a GMC not a Chevrolet. Also its newer than 1936 actually in production in 1960.
Thanks for clearing that up. None the less it was a amazing custom build and fun to see and hear run. I'm sure my regular viewers are enjoying watching it as much as I did. Create a great day rick
Never saw one of those before.😎👍
HEY , MR. WIZZARD , THE CAR MIGHT BE 1936 , BUT THE TRUCK ENGINE IS GMC 1960 - 1966 ( 702 V-12 ) !! I KNOW I HAD "2" OF THEM , 1 IN A GMC B-7000 CAB FORWARD & 1 IN A GMC L- 7000 TILT CAB ! IN 1936 CHEVY HAD SOME LITTLE " PISS - ANT " STRAIGHT 6 OVERHEAD VALVE , THAT'S AS GOOD AS IT GOT FOR CHEVY IN THOSE YEARS !!!!
Well it's also a amazing creation. I sure enjoyed seeing it and listening to it run.
Now thats awesome!
Wow didn't even realize it was running at first..I don't have a catch pan big enough to do a oil change on it lol. Thanks for sharing and hope all is well
Вандалы!..)))) Но рукастые, снимаю шляпу...
Wow thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching
You can barely hear the thing run lol
Man that’s cool!
